Dan,You really shouldn't be talking about "...this (being) what happens when audiophools are allowed in forums where they have no business being." You cite Lynn Olsen (whom I greatly respect) only because those particular comments of his mention your product & happen to lineup with what you believe. Fact is I had to look up R.E. Designs to see what you make. Never even heard of them before today, not even by word of mouth.
At the same time you quote Lynn you totally ignore John Curl's comment of "Cheever's thesis is pretty good. It should be standard reading for audio designers. Just remember folks: "Condemnation without examination is prejudice" ;-)"
I personally would listen to what Mr Curl says before you any day. I still remember owning his wonderful JC-1 preamp he designed for Mark Levinson. Your comments seem like sour grapes to me. Mr Cheever is searching for why tube components can measure bad, yet sound soooooo good. It's a fact, not someones imagination. I personally believe we haven't discovered what exactly needs to be measured to determine what is perceived as realistic to individuals.
Perhaps you are just afraid that one day a test will be developed that proves SET amps are actually more accurate than solidstate in reproducing music realistically, as perceived by individuals. This thesis doesn't seem to bother John Curl who also makes solidstate components, so why does it bother you so?
Dan you need to remember the ONLY Audiophool is the one who's afraid to learn or admit he doesn't have all the answers.
