Why Not Write Your Own Thesis To Disprove It?

Doing that would certainly go a long way further towards establishing some credibility for yourself and your personal beliefs, rather than just stating it's "Another crackpot theory to bash negative feedback and solid state amplifiers by SET fans." Mr Cheever is a lot more than just an SET fan! He's a B.S.E.E. with now a degree of Master of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering, or so I believe.

Your response is another typical Objectivist response towards ANYTHING that disagrees with their established beliefs. Even though the thesis was written by a B.S.E.E. as a partial fulfillment of the Requirements for the obtaining the Degree of Master of Science In Electrical and Computer Engineering, to you it's "Another crackpot theory..."

Perhaps you'd be willing to state what your credentials are for me? Do you have a B.S.E.E. or Master of Science In Electrical & Computer Engineering? Or are you just stating opinions of an audiophile? I ask because I don't know. Your comments seem like sour grapes in light of the fact that the thesis was examined and approved (if I read it correctly) by these 3 people below:

1) Thesis Director, Prof. John R. Lacourse,
Chairman of the Electrical and Computer
Engineering Department

2) K. Sivaprasad, Professor, Electrical and
Computer Engineering Department

3) L.G. Kraft, Professor, Electrical and Computer
Engineering Department

Yet Soundmind (A) disagrees! Do you honestly believe or expect that your opinion holds more validity than these 3 esteemed professors of Electrical and Computer Engineering who examined and approved this thesis?

Mr Cheever's comment of: "This thesis is an investigation of the hypothesis that the current accepted measurements that quantify fidelity of an amplifier fail to correlate well with subjective sound quality." seems very appropriate to me, especially when I've yet to hear ANY solidstate amp sound as realistic as my SET amp does, despite the fact the solidstate amps typically measure better, they always sound worse!
