NARAS recommendations

The NARAS recommendations call for LF and RF to be at 30 degrees, just like the ITU standards. The Bishop recommendation from yesterday is 60 degrees.

Your argument in a nutshell is that, since EXACTLY recreating at home what was heard in the mixing room is impossible, then anything goes. And that argument is ridiculous.

Very few MCH listeners can rearrange their speaker locations for every recording they want to enjoy. And why should they have to work at it for every disc? If an engineer applied a standard that was heavily promoted, ITU, then we listeners would be in the ballpark. Since Telarc has apparently used at least two very different configurations, it obviously means that one stable playback setup will never be positioned properly for both configurations.

MCH music has enough problems as it is without engineer "growth" complicating matters.

Maybe MCH music should have been played around with for a few years before it went public.
