You are absolutely right about tubes and solid state. Limiting yourself to only one is quite silly. In this case, I thought I needed more power for the CS6 and heard from many that Classe was as good match with Thiel. Being open minded I went back to solid state. It was good, in fact very good, but after putting the CJ back in my system I feel the combination is much more enjoyable to listen. I am sure others would prefer the Classe/Thiel. It is a matter of preference.Good to see you are still around. I'm not sure if you remember me, but I started with a pair of 1.5's/Mccormack, upgraded to 1.6's/CJ/ARC, and recently bought a pair of CS6's. It seems we have had similar audio paths. ( Still own the GTI? My Corrado is running great and I'm thinking of an R32)
I may have had another name long ago. The Audiophile upgrade dragon only wakes up in me every five years or so. You'll see me all over the boards and then I disappear listening to music for many years....
