While Classe is good, they're not great. I've owned 4 Classe amps including the large CA300. I've also owned a few tube amps including the CJ Premier 11a, AES/Cary SixPacs, and ARC VT100 MkII. I've gone from solid-state to tubes and now back to solid-state. You're right, there are no rules but don't think for a moment that tubes are the only game in town because your big Classe didn't quite do it for you. There are outstanding solid-state amps out there. You just have to discover them for yourself with an open mind. ;-)
