are not in conflict with the impulse testing that quantifies spectral driver delay. Woofers may not be fast or slow, but it is apparent that not all stop at the same rate. Equalizing a speaker for flat response does not change it's mass or inherent resonant characteristics. Is it really surprising to you that the speakers having the best impulse response JA has measured are electrostats? He uses the term "transient smearing" to define the effect to which I refer.rw
