On a live recording go multichannel

Most studio recordings are assembled and EQ'd. They are mostly monitored on direct radiators or hybrids using horn loaded compression drivers. I would think direct radiators with controlled directivity would be the way to go. For live recordings I think a good multichannel system is the way to go. You can argue all you want about how good a given 2 channel system can sound however a good multchannel has so many advantages to getting the sound field "correct" by comparison. The most important being to actually have the reflected sound coming from the correct directions and not from the front only.
