Erm, excuse me for butting in here.

I'm fascinated by the topic under discussion, but the manner of it leaves me not just cold but slightly repulsed. Can't you all hold a civil conversation? Then I'd be tempted to join in, for example by asking the esteemed personages' opinion on Ambiophonics and dipoles, on reverberation synthesis versus the hope of formats to actually capture important parts of the reverberant field; and then I might learn some more from you.
