Re: Imagination.

Exactly so.

The protocol I used at Ayre was to make a change to the system and then I would evaluate it independently from another critical listener. We only implemented the change if we both agreed that it was good, and *if we both agreed on the exact effects* of the change.

As a degreed physicist, some of the changes made sense to me. (Tighter power supply regulation = higher resolution and tighter bass.) Others made no sense whatsoever. (Wood blocks under power cords = improved sound quality.)

Please note that the operating mechanism doesn't particularly care whether or not I personally understand it. It just operates. (See link below.)
