Unlimited current draw?

Hehehe, even if music did require such enormous resources (and of course it doesn't), why would your wall current supply that pulses the storage capacitors at 120 Hz be better than a battery with a much more uniform (and much faster) current delivery? You can always use the same bank of capacitors for each, although batteries do allow one to get rid of the electrolytics altogether, which can lead to a terrific improvement in sound quality as well. Or for a good compromise without electrolytics, just use a battery as the voltage reference for your regulators, and use inductors with film capacitors for the supply.
