By all means, Slider. Where feasible, your strategy is sound.

You asked whether one has heard positive, audible differences with certain caps? Well I have, actually. There are some who suggest non-polarized Black Gates are preferable to film caps in certain applications. There is no doubt in my mind that Sanyo OS-CONs are superb decoupling in and around digital circuits (my Allen Wright-modded SONY SACD player is a valid case in point). Further afield I've installed Auricaps in my tube equipment with revelatory results (similar gains are surely possible with other caps e.g., Sonicaps, Mundorfs, Cardas, Dynamicaps, etc etc)
