The mechanical vibrations are easily measured and some manufacturers have published plots from various tests. The brittleness of the components nowadays means a pretty high Q, and not much dissipation. I've measured some myself with a phono cartridge setup, but it's pretty easy to just setup a circuit with sockets for the capacitor leads, and test them against each other by listening. There does seem to be a good correlation (though certainly not always) between how brittle they sound just by tapping on the case and feeling how heavy they are, and how they sound in circuit.
