Tom, I don't know that I am technically adept enough to be "quantifying musicality." That's why I make the proposals to those of you who are, in the hope that one of you might attempt it!I agree with your suggestion to use natural sounds as well as music, it's seems quite reasonable for the reasons you stated.
I'd like to say that this post should be an example of a technically adept person's response to a much less technically inclined person. Although we disagreed, you spoke your mind without trying to make me feel the fool for: A) having my idea and B) being less technically adept.
Tom you're unlike 99% of the Objectivists here. Most would rather prove their technical superiority than actually debate a topic they disagree with, especially when that person isn't as technically adept. I commend you for this post and the civility you used.
We may still disagree but you've earned my respect with this response.
