In my recent post on this issue at AR I allowed for the fact that some equipment vendors at CES share rooms with cable companies. But I'm fairly sure that many equipment vendors own their own exotic cables that they have chosen and paid for themselves.
However, I make no absolute claim on this subject. You have, Norm. So where is your PROOF to support your claim? As you frequently demand proof of others who make claims, I'm sure that you would not commit such hypocricy as to make a claim yourself without solid proof of its veracity.
