No audiophile should care whether other audiophiles use subjective auditions or coin flips or DBT's to choose their audio components. In fact a subjective A-B comparison at home could be more useful than a DBT done at some other location with unfamiliar equipment (and room).The problems start when audiophiles tell others to spend their money on a component selected subjectively ... without mentioning the possibility that the superiority of the recommended component is completely imagined.
The most amazing fact about audio for me is how often people can not hear differences among components when component identities are hidden and volumes are matched.
