Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

You imply small "Mom & Pop" audio businesses are good ... and big corporations are bad ?

I suppose small high-end audio businesses are not really businesses
at all.

They must be hobbies, not businesses.

They don't pay for space at the CES to sell products --
they just go there to show off their hobby.

Of course if someone wants their products, maybe
they'll make a few more and sell them.

But prices will be set so they just cover costs with no attempt to
make a profit.

Maybe these "Mom & Pop" audio businesses are owned by rich folks who enjoy audio and don't care if they make money or lose money because they don't need any more money.

If they accidently make profits I suppose they donate all the
profits to charity.

PT sez:
"And if people like you get your way, no doubt they will soon be extinct."

RG replies:
If they offer products that people want to buy, like
Vandersteen and Dudleston (Legacy Speakers) did,
then they'll grow far beyond "Mom & Pop" businesses.
Most big corporations started out as a single
"Mom & Pop" business -- perhaps 'people like you'
didn't know that?
