It's become polarized -- here's a suggestion

Unfortunately, this community has now reached the dysfunctional family stage.....

When I first joined, it seemed pretty clear (IMO) that the dysfunction was one-sided, but unfortunately Jon and others are dropping into the same behavior that they criticize, which means that it just becomes two camps repeatedly hurling the same tired accusations at each other.

While there is unlikely to ever be agreement between groups with such differing belief systems, we have collectively descended to a point that the noise exceeds the useful information.

Whatever the historical rights or wrongs, it's time for a reset:

Moderator suggestion:

How about a moratorium on dredging up the past?

I would like to see actions/responses to posts that contain this kind of stuff:

"Same old BS"

"And this is your excuse for not doing anything yourself to try and quantify your theories and speculations?"

"Since I have never seen you get up that courage and report any test in any detail, you have no supporting evidence for that statement"

"You have, throughout this thread...throughout all the technical threads, tossed garbage in the road to distract everybody"

or my recent favorite:

"one right out of the John Curl playbook" (2 insults for the price of one....)
