Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

Well, we seem to agree again...

Y'all say:
I think it's obviously ridiculous to expect a customer to do DBTs before they can make a claim that they think something makes an improvement or not. If anyone is going to do a test it should be the manufacturer but even that has problems in a lot of cases. it would be ridiculously prohibitive for small manufacturers
--
And I say AMEN.

Also, y'all say:
And as far as I'm concerned, all the customer has to say is whether or not they believe they hear a difference, whether that difference occurs reliably or not with use of the product, and whether or not they think it represents value for money.
---

How's that song go? "If it makes you happy..."

Now, the one thing we might disagree on is on the question of claims. I'm not quite sure what y'all really want a manufacturer to do, but I do think that somebody who claims something makes a difference in sound ought to test that, not some kind of overall satisfaction.

I suppose I'm splittin' hairs when I see a difference between "this improves your experience" and 'this improves the sound'. But I care. And so life goes on.
