You're answering a different post to mine. Since you missed it, David dismissed the "audiophiles are always predisposed to hear a difference and that difference will be an improvement in proportion to the thickness of the faceplate" horse-hocky, relating the fact that sometimes the difference he and others hear is not an improvement.I then responded relating my life-long DIY designing/scratch-building/modding/tweaking experience that often a change is a change for the worse; sometimes it's for the better; and sometimes I don't hear a difference at all.
Somehow, I am able to overcome my golden-eared audiophile predisposition (not to mention self-delusion) quite often and, remarkably, I sometimes prefer the cheaper item/tweak/mod/circuit I'm trying out. That often comes as a surprise, especially when the measurements I make imply no such thing.
Remarkable, ain't it? That's life in the audio fast lane.
I just know you find this fascinating, even if you did get your posts mixed up.
Now, go and find the poor soul you wished to call a liar and be rude to him.
If you want to, you can be rude to me, too: Like David, I've never seen references from you citing actual DBTs using music as a source, and I've read every ill-mannered, obdurate, condescending, and reliably content-free post you've made here. I'm sure as hell not going through them again.
The way I figure it, if you guys actually had such a thing you would trumpet it at every opportunity, like Richard does with his silly (scientific! Snort, chortle) Stereophile DBT.
