one really needs to post general proof stuff once. You can keep a copy of the post's URL and refer later requesters to that post and that takes no time at all so the time requirements may be onerous the first time but not thereafter.

Also, while you don't have to respond to requests for proof, there is a downside to refusal or failure to provide: readers may well decide that you don't have any. I suspect that their willingness to do so may vary considerably in accordance with the tone of your postings in the thread up to that point, with the nastiest interpretations of reasons for refusing/failing to provide proof being assigned to those whose posts have been nasty. The 'halo effect' is alive and well as always.
