What??? The race card? Who brought that up?

'I already told you that I think the kind of labelling you used was bs when you originally asked me'

Let me remind you once more. It was YOU that started putting people into *AUDIO* 'camps', labeling people (and magazines), and grouping them as extremists and middleground, not I. Please re-read your posts. I merely asked what determined where you placed people, and you have not responded to that question. I am not sure where race came into play for *you* it was not on my mind at all.

'We never read "it's a good product but I would never buy it because this and that is so much better at the price point".'

Perhaps I have missed an opportunity, but I have never found any magazine to make this type of statement. What I usually see is either a review pointing out a few weaknesses, while balancing them with have-hearted compliments, or comparing a product with something a lot more expensive so the flaws can be overlooked and it can be called 'a good value for the money'. I don't believe Sphile is any more (or less) guilty of *very* rarely coming out with a 'don't buy it' recommendation. If you do know of magazines that lay things out that clearly, please let me know which ones.

'I have no/zero tolerance for subjective objectivism - none.'

The term 'subjective objectivism' would need a bit more definition before I can comment. However, if you mean dismissing a tweak as a fraud without trying it, I do agree that in most cases it is un-acceptable. A case can be made that IC should be an exception given the information readily available. This has little to do with objectivism/subjectivism in audio, and more to do with common sense.

On the IC topic, I believe someone once said 'Do I really need to send $5000 to everyone in Nigeria offering me 20% of millions of dollars before I can declare it is a scam?'. I believe the silly claims by JSMR and Geoff on how the IC works puts it in the same category. For Jim to see it the same way is not un-reasonable to me.
