Hammond makes a nice series of high-current chokes suitable for filament use. I use them with battery filament supplies in a DHT headphone amp. The idea is to block AC from passing through the battery, and also damp any high-frequency noise caused by the chemical reaction of the battery itself discharding. I suspect that even a low-value choke like 4mH can help here, as it is still quite effective in the higher frequencies. (The reactance of 4mH at 5Khz is 125R.) These low-value chokes can be had at very low DCRs.
