But not the way you describe. I wanted inductors with 0.8 ohms DCR and able to handle 3.25 amps for 211 filaments on SLA bateries.I found a twin bobbin IE core transformer with appropriate windings and stripped out the (mains voltage) primary section. I then wound a duplicate of the (low voltage) secondary in its place. I set the air gap by suck-it-and-see on an inductance bridge. They seem to work but I haven't built the battery chargers for the SLAs yet so they haven't been installed. Anyone know of really cheap 13.8 V at 7.5 A regulated DC supplies? I need 4.
