Anyone Ever Make their Own Filament Supply Inductors

How did you do it?

I was thinking this would be rather easy - but I've never seen a professional made filament choke.

One could just take apart a small furnace tranformer. These are 1.25" E/I lams. Take it apart all the lams, then strip off wire off the bobin, then wind on a bunch of say 18 guage wire. Put all the lams back in. Put the channels back on. And you are done.

Think it would work. Don't you want poor high freq response in C-L-C filament supply. If yes then who cares how well you wind the thing.
