Tre, in a normal well designed gain stage there should be no phase shift between 1kHz and it's 2nd harmonic as measured at the OP. You should expect any appreciable phase shift at frequencies approaching the limits of bandwidth for that stage. That's one of the big reasons for maintaining wide BW throughout the whole amp.
