Hi.The very best auido analyser (tagged for USD22,800 a piece) can measure THDN down to -112dB with 2Vrms 1KHz as 0dB reference within 80KHz bandwidth limit.
With FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation) averaging, it can go down to -140dB.
But the arugment is: can such low low distortion level be achievable in commercial recording despite such distortion instrument now being available? Can our ears detect it?
