Pat,I made no attempts to level match the CDPs. I did however listen at different levels at different times. The difference I heard between CDP's using the two drumsticks clicking together in the song Aja, was the same regardless of the volume I listened at!
I've now decided to act like (not believe like) an Objectivist! As you guys always demand level-matching, blind testing, using DBTs, using ABXs or proof of "measured performance" before accepting anything a Subjectivist says.
I now in turn demand that Objectivists PROVE that the DBTs, ABXs or the tests they use to obtain acceptable "measured performance" actually take into account precisely: A) How the human ear measures differences in sound and B) How the brain interpets what the ear hears to decide what sounds real and what dosen't.
If you do not provide such proof I'll will be considering your responses meaningless because I consider your tests meaningless. They are obviously flawed and aren't measuring the proper criteria, to obtain the results needed!
