Pat D,You love to ignore, in true objectivist fashion everything I say. Just like Klaus, you immediately try to throw confusion and a bad light into the debate, how? Well first you state: "Just saying "subjectivists hear what they hear" doesn't solve anything, Tom."
I never said that in this thread Pat, only you said that by trying to allude that's what I meant, those are your words!!!!!! I specifically said, "I've come to what I believe is a very probable conclusion: The tests Objectivists use are measuring critera that is not indicative of either: A) How the human ear measures differences in sound and B) How the brain interpets what the ear hears to decide what sounds real and what dosen't."
I also said: "I believe when scientists discover the proper criteria to measure A & B above, we'll see that using that new set of citeria as grounds for "measured performance" will reveal that the Subjectivists have actually been hearing the differences they claim to hear and Objectivists will have "measured" proof of the performance."
I've come to believe that in time the proper tests will develope and what Subjectivist say they hear will be proven via the new Objectivists tests!
====================================================================
Pat you continued to try and muddy the debate, again in true Objectivists fashion by saying: "Now, since Klaus R's viewpoint does not involve that you are lying about what you perceive, you should not attribute that implication to him."I never said Klaus was lying, but he DEFINITELY falls into one of the Objectivists catagories I mentioned, or didn't you read my entire post? Klaus falls firmly into the Subjectivists are fooling themselves or imagining things catagory! Klaus said "I honestly believe that you hear/heard a difference between your cables but I also think believe that it may well be a product of imagination." So Pat my original post really does addresses his concerns as well!
I don't believe Subjectivists are imagining or fooling themselves as you Objectivists need to so desperately believe. I believe you Objectivists haven't yet discovered what proper set of citeria to measure in order to verify what Subjectivists hear.
I had previously invited you because I wanted to shock you. I have already proven to myself that I can, in a blind test (I was blindfolded) hear the difference between my Z-Squared Au/Au and Rat Shack interconnects 5 times out of 5 times! I was then also able to differentiate between an Audiomecca Keops (my old CDP) and a BlueNote Stibbert (my new CDP) 5 times out of 5 times blindfolded!!!
Believe it or not, with the CDP's it only required hearing about 15 seconds of a Steely Dan song, Aja I believe it was (the interconnects took longer) The drummer is playing a solo and stops hitting the drums and clicks his two drumsticks together two times. Once I heard those drumsticks hit I could identify with 100% accuracy which CDP was being used.
As I've said to you many times I speak from DIRECT EXPERIENCE not from articles I've read and liked. I've done sighted and blind tests, and in both cases I can tell what I'm listening to. As much as you might not like it, that's the truth and reality of the situation.
You can read that entire post by clicking on the link provided. This was a COMPLETELY BLIND test. So now what do you have to say? I'll be interested in what Objectivist canned answer you'll use this time.
