Full wave from source to speakers

I know that "common sense" has no place in engineering circles but I wonder if a full-wave tube rectifier is the perfect complement to a full-wave single ended amp.

After all, it's not like the actual source signal is what we hear. Rather, an amplified signal modulates the PS, and a ramped-up power source via the PS modulates the speakers. The "signal" "itself" gets dumped.

Anyway, I also hear differences in rectifiers, etc., along with pretty much every other part I can sub and then listen for.

Unlike a previous poster, I am not so sure that a "good sounding" power supply design is as simple as stiff SS regulation.

Unlike you, I have found that different rectifiers "sound different" in different circuits, so it would be harder for me to say which type is "best" across the board as you have done.

Best,
Paul S
