I have tried them in my phono stage power supply. I took them all out after an extended period of listening, and went back to a Tiawanese / Korean cheapy.I did not find the "glare" that you are talikg about. It was an all out winner in every way. More relax and have better swing. It sound as if I have removed a level of regulation and replaced them with good beefy chokes and caps - which is my preferred type of PS.
Obviously, your ears may hear differently. I tried them and have now discarded them.
