You are correct about the DC. Potting the transformer will reduce the mechanical vibrations and in most circumstances bring the mechanical hum down to inaudibility. The common mode line filters also do a pretty good job with non common mode noise. I would like to suggest that you check out the Corcom web site and if you are so inclined do some of your own measurements. I have confirmed their measurements.
