You may understand why skeptics often appear cynical. After all, after the lies, misattributions, extractions from context, the glorying in "a good bully", and all the other socially inept "might-makes-right" behaviors of the bleevers, I think a bit of cynicism is called for in the average case.Call it expectation arising from prior performance.
