Wellfed, you can chose which fallacious argument Caymus used in trying to discredit Alan Kafton from the following list.
Ad Hominem (an attack on the person) as described previously.
Poisoning the Well.
Personal Attack.
Guilt by association (if a person you dislike believes 1+1=2, then one should not believe 1+1=2)
Appeal to Ridicule (mocking a claim does not show that it is false)
