Re: Why is that?

Solving the problem of shielding is so simple even I can see the answer. Perform the test in a shielded room. I've built a few of them and they are used to exclude all outside electrical and magnetic fields of every kind in order to test emissions of products to assure conformance to FCC RF emission rules.

Would the shunt's ground be lifted? Why wouldn't it?

Are the switch contacts a problem? Wouldn't they have the same effect on the test wire as on the shunt? The signal goes through them either way. As for their effect, there are zero resistance switches possible such as those using mercury bulbs.

Are you saying that all of the objections cannot be overcome to the degree that a fair objective comparison test is possible?
