Audio Metallurgy was auctioning some gold alloy interconnects ($4000 list!)on Audiogon recently. The big gimmick was not the gold alloy, but the sandwiching of the conductors between two refrigerator door magnetic gaskets. I assume this is a way to get an air dielectric. I asked Henry Ott about this;I copied his reply below. They didn't want snide comments from "Sudo-engineers". I guess they will have to denounce Mr. Ott as one now.

Makes no sense to me.
I would assume that the magnets would just increase the inductance, otherwise serve no useful purpose.
I will stick with my cheap zip cord.

Dear Mr. Ott:I have attached an Audiogon ad for Audio Metallurgy cables. I think you
ought to take a look. This would probably warrant a mention on
Audioholics.com. I'll give this fellow credit for being original;he
didn't just take off-the-shelf wire, dress it up and sell it for $4000.Best Regards,
