That's the bottom line -- you are clearly working from a paradigm that dictates that one stops at "good enough". You have said so in more than one post. This is classic engineering thinking -- progress beyond good enough is not economically justifiable. It's how I was taught at Engineering school.There are those who are operating with a different model -- what happens if we go past good enough? As an example outside cables, there is a lot to suggest that improvements to power supplies keep delivering improvements in sound. There doesn't appear to be an endpoint. One can certainly argue the cost effectiveness of over-engineered suppplies, but that is a completely different discussion.

Aim low enough and you always get there......
