Personally, I don't like spending a lot of money for overkill of problems I'm not likely to encounter. Had I not had a hum problem, I don't think I would have added extra shielding. However, it seems to me that effective coaxial cable shielding consisting of foil and a 100 braid is not a very expensive precaution. In PVC, it really shouldn't cost more than about ten to twenty cents a foot for most cables like RG 59 or RG 62. Even in teflon, I rarely spent over thirty.
