I can't believe there is so little information on grounding subject and its "sinking" capability on the web, even in communication area. I thought there is going to be tons of information on a that subject, but apparently not. May be a trip to library and looking up that subject in communication and ham/shortwave handbook will be more fruitful.Any way, I ran cross this article by accident and it shed little bit of light on this subject. One thing I kept running cross was emphasis on having a low impedance and low resistance to ground to make it work properly. Which mean using extra thick conductors, and be as close to [earth] ground entry point as possible. Other wise, one might not get the full benefits.
Any way, here is the article. Note that in 1.2.2.5. Grounding and Bonding section, he mentioned that:
"Grounding and bonding consists of using conductive connections between equipment (bonding) and between equipment and the earth (grounding). The effects of this are two-fold. The connection to earth provides an infinite sink for the electromagnetic energy. The effect of this is to keep all of the equipment connected to the ground at a stable potential"
