Hi.My wife does not. Me neither.
That's why once I moved in my house 17 years ago, I built my house basement into my audio den, with acoustical drop ceiling & wall-to-wall carpet & floor-to-ceiling all-round wall cladding (glass-wool filled voids.
Despite my music paradise occupies many hundred feet floor area, I am still using my vintage KEF 2-way bookshelf speakers, I DIY bi-wire modified & upgraded.
I don't believe in large speakers. I've auditioned a musically jaw- dropping sound system tagged for 400,000 greenback dollars with speakers slightly larger than bookself size. So? Speaker size is not an issue at all for musical sound when done right.
I want my home sweet home look immaculate upstairs where my family & me enjoy, & my neatly arranged HiFi downstairs in my basement parlour for my rusting ears. I shut the basement door before music starts to minimize sound disturbance going upstairs. I make the best of both worlds.
We got to be considerate & caring not only for our own hobby, but for others too.
