I find it amazing that you have walked all over the place on eggshells in an attempt to not hurt anybody's feelings..and yet, it didn't seem to be enough...Perhaps grovelling??Charles is right about the price/perf/issue with small manu's. At the small volume, it's incredibly hard to keep the price down..Course, you knew that, as that even applies to aerospace machining. Quantity=lower cost.
I used K horns in the past, at 300 w/ch. Bout 30 years ago, when I thought Bose 901's were the end-all. Really liked the spl, didn't have a clue as to quality sound.
Now, I've some big pro-driver stuff.. 101 db spl, but for good listening and soundstage?? piss poor..Major spl with 3Kw, totally excellent for 500 seat venues, but that's more of a coverage and frequency response issue, not an overly phase critical application.
John Curl really dissed the K horns, don't remember why, but his comments did make sense. I think there are a lot of tradeoffs in their design, flare, cutoff, back chamber...so his assertion that lots of front baffle speakers are better is certainly a good one.
Good luck in getting some recommendations..
Cheers, John
PS...when I first started here, I also did the eggshell walk thing..but it did not prevent my being stepped on..
