I personally think most of the sonic differences in interconnect cables are due to the terminations, not the wire. Unless a "pure" metal is used, whether silver or copper, these things are a crapshoot. (I find I-Cs to sound different, but I often have a hard time determining if one sounds *better*, if all the samples use typical alloy terminations.)I also find if a source has a *very* low output impedance, the more-similar cables sound. (And I think Wadia falls into this category. You may find a bigger difference between the tubed Hovland and the amp.) Although I've never had an experience where I thought two different I-C cables sounded indistinguishable from each other.
