No audiophile in the world has yet demonstrated to witnesses his ability to hear differences among three-foot interconnects with clean terminations in a controlled listening test. Therefore the hypothesis that no audiophile can hear differences among interconnects must remain a possibility.
This also applies to 10-foot speaker cables intended for audio use (with no black boxes, just wires of at least 16AWG and clean terminations). You smartypants golden ears please provide me with the name of one audiophile who has proven this ability in front of at least one neutral witness.
Certainly there are thousands of golden ears out there who would like to get a pesky objective audiophile like me off their backs by identifying ...... just ............ one .................. name.
If any of you golden ears out there have already proven to neutral witnesses your ability to hear wire differences,
and would be willing to REPEAT your feat,
I will gladly pay a sum of $1,000 to witness your hearing skills under double-blind conditions and write an article about your abilities for an audio publication. Please have one of your neutral witnesses contact me (rgreene2@ford.com) to verify your listening skills,
describe the double-blind methodology you used
and make arrangements for a visit. However if you are unable to repeat your double-blind success when I visit, I will expect you to reimburse my transportation costs
(I will forward all the money to my favorite charity:
The Salvation Army). And no tricks you smartypants golden ears.
I'm a tough guy just like Arnold Swatzenwhatever.
Except I'm 5' 2" and weigh 449 lbs.
