In the early 80s I studied in (then) West Berlin and would take day trips to the East; stop in a pub & have a beer and talk with the locals. I was surprised at how often people tried to convince me that the Holocaust - as we knew it- didn't really occur, that is, people actually killed. You couldn't argue with them, though god knows I tried. I finally just asked if I could have german-speaking survivors living in the US send them mail. They always said yes, though I don't know if it changed any minds.I have never met an (lunar) Astronaut, though I have met people who have. Why not reach out to the astronauts? They often speak at colleges, or to other groups (used to at least).
Before calling something a fraud for which people (purportedly?) gave their lives, go to the source and look them in the eye. Shake their hands. They are people and probably not as inaccesible as your think. The truth on some matters are worth such efforts.
Peace,
