"My own political position is that the high-end audio industry as we know it needs to just die - which it is doing a great job of already. Then, the music lovers, including the engineers who know how to build good equipment, can join up with entrepreneurs who can offer the equipment at a reasonable price and put the whole system back on a realistic track. And by a "realistic track" I mean one that can provide equipment similar in price to what the mainstream person ordinarily interested in mid-fi equipment might get, but with much higher quality, and also provide the more discriminating listener with products which are higher in price but have good value for money with respect to performance. But I am getting off-topic here, and into decidedly risky territory... "
Thank you for that comment. Hopefully in a few years high end as we presently know it will implode due to it's excessive neurosis. Then we might have a real shot at sanity.
