Your two examples raise possibilities, but they are well explained by current science.A UFO is defined negatively. It's just an unidentified flying object. No particular reason to believe they are alien phenomena just because of a failure to identify some of them. It is interesting that if one was identified as alien, it would no longer be unidentified, would it?
Crop circles? They've shown infrared night movies on TV of people making the damn things. No need to suppose something more mysterious, alien landings or something.
