And that concept is parallax. Look it up if don't believe me.Now I have been exposed to this factor in my Navy days through training and experience. It is something to take into account when you are using an aiming device for a weapon when the aiming device and the weapon are not in the same physical location.
Your supposition about non-parallel shadows does not make sense.
