A self-defeating opinion if I may so, could you taste the same glass of wine twice, No, because each new glass will be a DIFFERENT from the previous one, might be from the same bottle, but it is still DIFFERENT. The goal in DBT is to recreate an environment when the IDENTICAL PARAMETERS still hold for each SUCCESSIVE sample.

If only those naive DBT engineers had SOME knowledge of hearing processes and SOME grasp of the scientific method, they wouldn't be talking endlessly about measurements without knowing WHAT actually they are measuring.

The process of the listening evaluation is a process of statistical analysis, the statistical analysis of controlled listening sessions, this can be conducted without knowledge of precise measurments. And it is a valid scientific methods, many valid observations are made without precise understanding of the theory behind such behaviour, the theory can come later, it is sufficient to be able to recreate the environment under the which the said behaviour can be unambiguously observed. Many important scientific discoveries have follow and continue to follow this pattern.

It all boils down to the deep lack of understanding of hearing processes by most of the DBT community. In short, they are quacks, most of them.

If there is a lack of understanding, then it lies with the audiophiles as your self-defeating opinion so amply demonstrates.
