If a listener cannot make a choice as to which component produced the differences they are hearing, it is no stretch to conclude that the differences may be imaginary, and that is the whole point of the test to remove preconcieved opinions formed by priori knowledge of the components under examination. Audible memory is clearly not the problem because the same listeners generally have no problem with audible memory under sighted conditions.
