This is not really true. It is only seen to be when you do ABX double blind tests. We can do blind A-B testing with good results. I debated this with Lipshitz over 26 years ago. He has never shown me anything new since then.
I design electronic products for a living, and I can safely say that amplitude, phase, and distortion measurements are not enough to make audio components sound the same. I wish that they did.
Why you, SY, a person who designs wine corks and plays with tube equipment, thinks that you know that I don't know about this, has been unfortunately, mislead by others to think what doesn't really exist in the real world. Sorry about the wording SY, but I think you get the idea, no hard feelings.
