It's actually not that you never get an explanation - it's that you never accept an explanation.Why should every explanation necessarily be accepted without question?
Personally I haven't seen that you've ever offered any actual explanation. I don't consider throwing out buzzwords and then telling people to do their homework when they follow up with questions any sort of explanation.
Clark and Curl have been making a big deal of Daniel Drasin's Zen and the Art of Debunkery. Here are two points from that essay that seem particularly germane to you and a few others:
• Downplay the fact that free inquiry and legitimate disagreement are a normal part of science.
• Use "smoke and mirrors," i.e., obfuscation and illusion. Never forget that a slippery mixture of fact, opinion, innuendo, out-of-context information and outright lies will fool most of the people most of the time.
It cuts both ways. The points made by Drasin aren't limited to debunkery.
